What are the Day-to-Day Operating Expenses?
1. Maintain the facilities: 7 shelters; 5 playgrounds; 1 dog fi eld; 4.5 miles of hike/bike trails; 3 miles of nature trails; 50 athletic fi eld areas serving soccer, lacrosse, rugby, fi eld hockey and football; 3 tennis courts, 4 basketball courts, 4 sand volleyball courts, 15 ball diamonds; Beech Acres Park RecPlex, 1 gym, 4 classrooms, and 1 covered patio.
2. Maintain 469 acres of parkland owned and managed by the Park District.
3. Maintain the infrastructure: 24 acres of asphalt (parking lots); restrooms; irrigation
systems; building maintenance; equipment necessary to maintain the infrastructure.
4. Continue to offer a wide variety of year-round recreational activities for all ages.
5. Develop and plan new recreational spaces and amenities.
6. Provide administrative services, volunteer opportunities, publications and security.
Sound fiscal choices have enabled past Park District Operating Levies to provide capital projects.
Some of the capital projects being considered for this next Levy cycle are:
1. Continue development of W. M. Johnson
Hills Park.
2. Implement a renovation schedule for all playgrounds throughout the park system.
3. Clear Creek Park ~ enhance parking lots
